Whether in the smart factory of the future, on the road, in the air, in the operating room or in space – the Swiss drive specialist maxon delivers solutions that are used whenever there is no room for compromise when it comes to precision, efficiency, reliability and high performance in the smallest of spaces. In fall 2024, maxon is launching a series of innovative new products and further developments, including a versatile drive with a diameter of just 16 millimeters.

Equipped with ironless windings and four-pole rotor designs, the brushless PRIME motors feature high speed stability. The 53-millimeter-long ECX PRIME 16 L adopts these characteristics, as well as the high torques of up to 25 millinewton meters and the high speeds of up to 40,000 revolutions per minute. The ECX PRIME 16 L is also available as a sterilizable version, which is suitable for medical hand tools, for example. The ECX PRIME 16 L is free of detent torques and can be combined with a variety of other maxon components to create a perfectly fitting drive system for the respective application.
