And like every year, they meet the family-run company LAPP from Stuttgart, which is the world market leader for integrated solutions and brand-name products in the field of cable and connection technology. And as in every year, the Swabians are setting exciting impulses for industry with new products, innovations and smart solutions. The motto of this year's industrial fair, “Industrial Transformation – Energizing a sustainable future”, is fully in line with the cable manufacturer's self-image. At the LAPP stand, visitors and users will once again find smart connection solutions for a more sustainable future and for Industry 4.0. The focus is on products and solutions that impress with both their high performance and their sustainability, thus making a decisive contribution to the energy transition or shaping the industry of tomorrow.

New ideas, pioneering technologies

The central component of the exhibition stand is the FutureLab. This is where the Stuttgart-based company presents innovative solutions and sustainable projects in various stages of implementation. Among other things, the Lapp experts will be showcasing progress and ongoing projects in the field of additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping, as well as their in-house chatbot “Lapp Product Expert”, and explaining how larger conductor cross-sections can reduce costs and CO2 emissions. LAPP is also strongly positioned in the field of renewable energies with products and solutions for solar, wind and infrastructure projects, and is bringing experts, know-how and high-quality references to Hannover for this purpose.

New products for heat and water

As always, the new products are a major attraction. The Swabians are bringing along, for example, the new EPIC M23 connector. The component in the new “Clean Design” is designed for direct connection to servo motors and offers LAPP OEMs a full-service harnessing solution from the control cabinet to the inside of the motor. The new ÖLFLEX HEAT 700 SC connection and control cable has the advantage of an even higher heat resistance temperature range compared to its predecessor ÖLFLEX HEAT 650 SC. As the product name suggests, it can withstand a continuous heat load of 700 degrees Celsius. Finally, the ÖLFLEX AQUA is a new, durable and robust PUR connection cable for aquaculture and is characterized by its UV and ozone resistance. It is both seawater and ammonia resistant and designed to withstand attack from algae and mussels.

Concentrated know-how for special cables and industrial communication

For the first time, the topic of special cables will be presented at the exhibition stand this year. Although LAPP provides a portfolio of more than 40,000 standard products, there are always customer requirements that are so specialized that they require a special solution. This is where, according to the company, all of the cable specialist's engineering excellence and accumulated know-how comes into play to develop and produce customized special designs for the most extraordinary conditions and environments. Visitors to the trade fair can experience at first hand exactly what the process behind this achievement looks like and where LAPP has already scored points with it.

At all levels of the automation pyramid

The topic of “industrial communication” should not be neglected at the world's most important industrial fair. This year, LAPP is not only presenting an extensive portfolio for the various levels of the automation pyramid, but also its proven range of optical fibers. At the LAPP workbench, interested visitors can experience live how an optical fiber is assembled on-site using the Fibre Fast Connect system. In addition, numerous LAPP experts will be available throughout the fair to provide comprehensive advice on topics such as Single Pair Ethernet (SPE), Advanced Physical Layer (APL) or Cloud Connectivity. At the Industrial Communication Wall, visitors can see at a glance where the comprehensive LAPP product portfolio is used at all levels of the automation pyramid, from the field to the cloud.

Solutions for intralogistics & e-mobility

Whether for ready-to-install drag chains for storage towers or automated storage and transport systems, intralogistics is once again a key topic for LAPP this year. The cable specialist now offers a complete portfolio of products, solutions and services for this industry, as well as comprehensive expertise. Of particular interest to users are LAPP's new remote I/O devices that support IO-Link technology. This communication system enables a point-to-point connection between an IO-Link device and an IO-Link master and the decentralized collection and control of process data by connecting sensors and actuators to the control system via a bus interface. At this year's exhibition stand, the connection specialist will also be demonstrating its extensive expertise in the field of LAPP Harnessing Solutions with proven assemblies. The company aims to impress with industry-standard servo assemblies, customized cable assemblies and complex system solutions. These solutions are complemented by a wide range of services designed to provide customers with optimal support throughout the entire production process.

Competence in AC and DC charging infrastructures

In the field of e-mobility, too, the cable manufacturer is increasingly thinking in terms of complete solutions and is bringing its cumulative LAPP expertise in AC and DC charging infrastructures to HANNOVER MESSE. From external supply lines to charging parks, charging parking lots and electrified underground parking lots from the medium-voltage level via power cables, communication lines and screw connections within the charging stations to externally attached CCS2 plugs, LAPP offers charging park installers and operators the complete package for cabling in proven LAPP quality, including comprehensive consulting services. This year's highlight is the new, high-performance DC charging cable with CCS2 plug and exchangeable plug surface for mounting on DC charging stations. However, proven AC charging solutions such as the LAPP Mobility Dock and the Helix charging cable are also included.
