Whether for occupational safety or order picking, customer care or medical technology: ‘Smart glasses’ have a multitude of potential practical uses in industrial companies. The technology has evolved and a whole host of models have since come onto the market. In cooperation with its spinoff Oculavis, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT has how launched a free online tool that aims to make it easier for companies to choose the right glasses for them.

The Smart Glasses Guide is based on the institute’s expertise and on studies conducted as part of pilot projects. The guide lists and compares a number of details and specifications, including technical data. A questionnaire helps companies compare their needs with the range of glasses available. They can also leverage a 360-degree view to step into the shoes of the wearer and test out the view from their perspective.
