The winning project in 2019 is an additive manufacturing solution from Nuremberg-based Neotech AMT , which can manufacture a 3D circuit carrier through a five-axis process and print functional structures such as antennas and induction coils onto another material. The five-axis process also facilitates the 100% additive manufacturing of complete products in a single system, such as housing with conductor paths, including the complete assembly of additional components.
SmartSim GmbH from Essen took second place, with its process for the digital injection of various gases into gas networks; the process calculates exactly which mixture with which properties reaches the customer. Third place went to ultrasound specialist Sonotec from Halle for its Sonaphone: a mobile testing device for machine maintenance that detects defective components such as gears and bearings even before a potential defect.
