(Solar) power to the people - phase three
The first three-phase inverter with free Smart Connected monitoring from SMA Solar Technology AG can also be used for low output classes and features integrated communications designed to improve modules for the best possible results.19 Dec. 2018
If you want to use a photovoltaic system to power your home then you’ll need a voltage transformer to convert the generated direct current into alternating current for all your consumers. Single-phase and three-phase inverters can be used, although a single-phase feed into a domestic power grid can cause problems. For example, a high system density and uneven distribution of the consumers over different mains phases can result in asymmetries in the mains voltage. It is little surprise, then, that the clear trend is in favor of three-phase inverters. Cue the announcement from SMA Solar Technology AG that it has launched the Sunny Tripower 3.0-6.0 - the first three-phase PV inverter also suitable for low output classes and including the SMA Smart Connected service and integrated communications for module optimization.
Weighing just 17kg, the Sunny Tripower 3.0-6.0 is not only lighter than any previous Sunny Tripower devices, but also exceptionally powerful. The PV inverter can be commissioned quickly and intuitively using a smartphone or tablet and features a built-in interface for easily connecting TS4-R module optimizers, allowing modules affected by shading to be optimized and system costs thus reduced. Thanks to the SMA Smart Connected service incorporated into the Sunny Tripower 3.0-6.0, PV system owners and installers are automatically notified of any irregularities - completely free of charge. This makes servicing faster and more cost-effective and ensures PV system owners' investments are secure. "Thanks to the new Sunny Tripower, it's never been easier for our customers to utilize solar energy and further reduce their energy costs," says Nick Morbach, Executive Vice President of the Residential and Commercial business unit at SMA.
