During the 22nd FEMWORX Career Congress at HANNOVER MESSE 2025, interested parties can experience moments full of inspiration and encouraging stories at the most successful network and discussion events for female leadership in the STEM field over two days (April 3 and 4, 2025). Among the partners registered this year is the Hamburg Association for Women in Management (fim), a recognized network that actively promotes women in management and is committed to the well-being of society as a whole.

Gender equality

Even as a young woman, Helga Stödter (1922–2011), founder of fim, set an impressive pace: a graduate economist at 20, a doctor of law five years later. She then worked in the diplomatic service, later as a lawyer. Three daughters were added. She had a big goal: gender equality. That is why she founded the “fim - Association for Women in Management e. V.” in 1987.

Red instead of dark blue and black

“I'm right about red!” she once exclaimed at a reception when everyone around her was once again dressed in dark blue and black. And she was just as vital and combative as red when it came to women's rights. She helped to establish the European Women's Management Development International Network (EWMD) together with other women. fim, a network for women in Germany, followed shortly afterwards. A supporter of mixed leadership herself, Helga Stödter set up a foundation that awards a prize for mixed leadership to companies. The current leaders at fim honor the spirited and cheerful spirit of their founder. The association, by women for women, has been committed to women's rights at all levels – political, social and economic – for over 30 years.

Cross-industry network

“fim – Frauen im Management” (Women in Management) is a cross-industry network for women in management with regional groups throughout Germany. Its defined goals are: to get more women into management positions, to achieve mixed leadership in all management functions and to close the gender pay gap. Practical implementation includes supporting female careers through coaching, consulting and mentoring. The association helps women to become visible, among other things through self-marketing, and offers the opportunity to appear at trade fairs and congresses within fim or at partner organizations – as at the 22nd FEMWORX Career Congress at HANNOVER MESSE 2025.
