BÄR Automation, a specialist in customized automation systems based in Gemmingen, has now expanded its portfolio to include ConTrax HybridNav, a navigation software developed in-house. The software is designed for industrial applications involving automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and combines free-range and lane-guided navigation in a hybrid approach.

ConTrax HybridNav was developed for brownfield and greenfield projects and supports the customized implementation of client-specific AGV solutions. Through VDA5050-compliant driving corridors, the software enables controlled deviation from predefined paths, allowing obstacles to be automatically navigated around—while ensuring predictable movements for both humans and robots. As a result, the navigation solution is designed for dynamic environments and enables seamless collaboration with people, AGV fleets, forklifts, and other vehicles.

ConTrax HybridNav is VDA5050 V2.1-compliant and compatible with common fleet management systems. Deployment is via Docker for ARM and AMD architectures. Virtual commissioning with full physics and sensor simulation reduces risks as early as the project planning phase while simultaneously reducing on-site integration time.
