The Design Center Baden-Württemberg has been awarding the international design prize ‘Focus Open’ every year since 1991. In addition to the design quality, the independent jury also evaluates the functionality, level of innovation, ergonomics and usability of a product. The emergency stop switch ‘QRBLUVOOI_C1190’ from GEORG SCHLEGEL has apparently convinced the jury of experts in this respect. ‘A product that is clearly reduced to its safety-relevant function and elegantly expands the world of emergency stop buttons. The status can be recognised very easily and unambiguously, even from a distance,’ the jury said in its statement about the emergency stop.

The QRBLUVOOI_C1190 offers added safety with its illuminable anti-lock collar: pressing the switch in an emergency brings a machine into a safe state, while at the same time activating the LEDs integrated in the protective collar. This makes it possible to quickly identify and rectify emergencies. However, the lighting function is not rigid, but can be individually configured and rotated. In this case, the LED lighting indicates the functional readiness of the emergency stop.

This emergency stop is suitable for the common installation opening of 22.3 millimetres and, thanks to the integration of the M12 connection in the emergency stop, has a surprisingly low installation depth of 27.5 millimetres. It has two openers and one closer and is designed for a long service life with at least 50,000 switching cycles. The QRBLUVOOI_C1190 has an IP65 protection rating from the front and IP54 at the back, making it suitable for harsh working environments.

SCHLEGEL has a long tradition of focusing on beautiful and functional product design. The Dürmentingen-based company has already received well over 100 national and international design awards. It has also won the ‘Focus Open’ award several times: in 2021, SCHLEGEL convinced the jury with the proboxx enclosure line and in 2022 with the new MK.
