Bus and Ethernet cables are indispensable for digital communication in numerous industrial applications – even in energy chains, where dynamic acceleration, high speeds and tight bending radii are the order of the day. Mechanical stresses such as severe bending in small radii, dynamic tensile forces and abrasion on the surrounding components put a lot of strain on the cables and can cause damage in the long term, resulting in faults that are difficult to locate and unpleasant production downtimes.

HELU KABEL has therefore developed the new HELUCHAIN bus cables, a solution designed specifically for this demanding application environment. The cables have a particularly robust outer sheath made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). This is extremely resistant to both abrasion and chemical influences and is designed to ensure excellent durability even at extreme temperatures. A shield with high coverage and a flat braiding angle provides reliable protection against EMC interference.

The inner sheath of the HELUCHAIN cables is also made of TPE and is pressure extruded. This ensures that the cores inside are precisely guided and prevents internal deformation, known as corkscrewing. This keeps the positions of the cable components fixed, resulting in consistently good and stable transmission characteristics. According to their developers, the cables should achieve a service life of at least five million bending cycles even with a minimum bending radius of 7.5 x d. Laboratory tests have shown excellent data transmission even at significantly smaller radii. According to HELU KABEL, this makes them an ideal solution for highly dynamic machines, for example in handling and conveyor technology or in printed circuit board assembly.

HELUCHAIN bus cables are available from stock for all common bus systems such as Profinet, PROFIBUS, Ethernet up to CAT 7 and CAN bus. Thanks to their UL approval, they are also suitable for use on the American market and thus for export-oriented mechanical engineering. As a system provider, HELU KABEL also supplies the cables pre-assembled with the appropriate connectors on request, as well as part of a completely assembled and ready-to-use energy supply system.
