An AGV platform with an integrated cobot, developed by IBG-Automation GmbH in Neuenrade, is designed to take intralogistics to a new level and enable intelligent, camera-based order processing. Components are automatically picked up from defined sources, such as blister packs or pallets, transported autonomously to the transfer station, and placed there with precision. According to the developers at IBG, seamless communication between the AGV fleet manager and the customer’s MES system eliminates the risk of material mix-ups while ensuring complete traceability.

The integrated cobot uses a 3D camera system to accurately detect the position and orientation of the components. With the help of a universal gripper, it positions them precisely on the designated workpiece carriers. The system is capable of handling the process-compliant, decentralized, and order-based provision of components. Another advantage lies in the system’s high flexibility. Both travel paths and tasks can be individually adjusted at any time, allowing the solution to adapt optimally to changing production requirements. The result is an efficient, low-error, and transparent material supply system that represents an important step toward autonomous and networked production.
