LAPP, the global market leader for integrated solutions and branded products in the field of cable and connection technology, recently presented a genuine world first at HANNOVER MESSE 2025: The EPIC M23P A3 Quickflex circular connector is designed for voltages up to 1,000 volts and can be used directly on the servo motor.

Servo motors are used wherever high-precision drives are required. They enable precise control of angular positions, speed, and acceleration and are therefore particularly used in industrial automation, for example in the control of axes in CNC machines, robots, and conveyor belts, but also in production and the automotive industry. This requires reliable and robust connection solutions that supply motors with power and withstand the demanding environments found in industry.

LAPP already offers connection and control cables as well as servo assemblies that are specifically designed for use with servo motors. With the new rotatable EPIC M23 Power angle mounting box, the global market leader is now launching the first connector for direct connection to servo motors, including signal transmission, specifically designed for harsh environments where electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is required.

The rotatable and angled M23 motor connector features a Quickflex quick-locking system that is designed to make it easy for anyone to connect it to its counterpart. The lock engages after just one-eighth of a turn and is compatible with standard connectors. The EPIC M23P A3 Quickflex features LAPP's new clean design and achieves protection class IP 68 when mated, making it easy to clean. The rotatable outlet on the motor allows for an adjustable, defined outlet angle, offering flexibility in connection.

Another special feature: the clever design of the M23 motor connector allows voltages of up to 1,000 volts or can be used at altitudes of up to 5,000 meters. Its die-cast zinc metal housing gives it exceptional stability. The reinforced wall thickness makes it mechanically more robust and resistant to shock and vibration – even under constant load changes. Its shorter housing is particularly interesting for robot applications where every millimeter counts, while the installation space for assembly remains the same. The connector can also be used with the colored marking rings of the EPIC M23P series. This color coding of LAPP connectors can be used to identify different axes or as a CI color element for motor manufacturers.

The EPIC M23P A3 Quickflex gives Lapp a first taste of a new generation of connectors. The Stuttgart-based company aims to improve usability and design in all its connectors and score points in the future with more efficient production and optimized development cycles.
