When HANNOVER MESSE 2025 opens its doors on 31 March, RWE Generation SE will also be on board as an exhibitor. The company, which is wholly owned by the RWE Group, combines the activities of conventional power generation across national borders. The Essen-based company is responsible for the generation of electricity using gas, coal, hydrogen, hydroelectric power and biomass within the RWE Group. The approximately 3,000 employees currently operate power plants in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Turkey.

With its flexible and efficient power plant fleet, RWE Generation intends to increasingly move towards the age of renewable energies. The Essen-based company is second in Europe with its gas fleet and sees this as an excellent starting position – because gas is becoming increasingly important as a bridge to the renewable energy era. RWE Generation is also represented in many core markets with traditional hydropower. In the Netherlands in particular, the company is focusing on biomass – and is currently converting two hard coal-fired power plants to use the CO2-neutral energy source. Finally, the hydrogen business is also increasingly coming into focus, because RWE Generation also sees hydrogen as the energy source of the future.

By converting power plants, promoting renewable energies and successfully developing storage technologies, RWE Generation is making a decisive contribution to the ambitious goal of the entire RWE Group: to be climate-neutral by 2040.
