It is not enough to simply equip machines with sensors and collect data for the Industrial Internet of Things. The clever reuse of data is the key. This is what McKinsey stated based on the figures of a study . 60% of the respondents indicate that the data obtained provides important information. At the same time, 54% say that only a tenth of this information is used. SmartFactoryKL cloud of the eponymous technology initiative and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) wants to change that. As a superordinate platform, it aggregates all individual cloud solutions. These provide expert knowledge, but only for the specific application. They are brought under the umbrella of the SmartFactoryKL cloud inclusive of all types of manufacturers.

The concept will be demonstrated using a production facility at the Hannover Messe in hall 8, booth D18 . For example, their quality assurance and manufacturing modules use a variety of predictive maintenance clouds. The all-encompassing platform brings the data together, analyzes it, and forwards it in a targeted manner. Incorrect or deviating data can quickly be found and can then be forwarded to an employee as a maintenance instruction.
