The HARTING Technology Group, a leading provider of industrial connection and termination technology, has now announced that it has joined the NVIDIA MGX ecosystem as a provider of high-performance connections for the NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 platform. HARTING supplies so-called Power Whip solutions—cable assemblies that distribute power from the building to each rack. The solutions are designed to meet the rapidly increasing power demands of AI facilities and encompass two generations of the NVIDIA MGX power architecture for 480-volt AC and 800-volt DC.

With increasing AI usage and rising computational intensity, data centers must manage significantly more energy in constrained environments without compromising reliability, efficiency, or scalability. This transformation places new demands on connectivity technology.

“AI is fundamentally changing data center infrastructure. HARTING has the technical expertise to enable this transformation,” said Philip Harting, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of the HARTING Technology Group. “Within the NVIDIA MGX ecosystem, we can leverage our decades of experience in high-current applications, ranging from rail transportation to the automotive industry. Together, we are enabling infrastructures that support the next generation of artificial intelligence.”

For the NVIDIA MGX platform, HARTING supplies a 100A/480VAC Power Whip for the 3RU 110kW Power Shelf for NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 and supports the transition to 800-volt direct current with a next-generation 157A/800 VDC DC-DC cable assembly that connects the power infrastructure to the computer rack.

“AI data centers are becoming increasingly powerful, and rack densities are rising. This means power distribution must be reimagined from the ground up,” said Christian Gysin, Chief Technology Officer and member of the Executive Board of the HARTING Technology Group. “The transition from 480 VAC to 800 VDC is a significant step in this development. Connectivity solutions must support these higher power levels while delivering the reliability, safety, and scalability that these environments demand. This is exactly where HARTING’s technical expertise comes into play.”
