The Master’s in Data Engineering focuses on the reliable, efficient, and secure collection, storage, and analysis of large data volumes. It aims to train the next generation of IT specialists not only in collecting ever-more complex data streams from distributed data sources, but also in gaining real added value and useful knowledge through machine learning – whether in manufacturing industries, the finance sector, or their own IT startup.
The Hasso Plattner Institute’s new course follows a trend in training. For example, since the beginning of 2018, private distance learning university SRH Fernhochschule in Riedlingen, in the German federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, has been offering a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering with Digital Business , which can be completed as a full-time study program or as part of an on-the-job training course. Industrial companies are also increasingly relying on training and continuing education to counter the current shortage of skilled workers.
