This company has Industry 4.0 all taped up
AMOHR, the specialist in "smart textiles", has created AMOTAPE® Fast-E-Tex. This partially elastic flat conductive tape allows users - for the first time - to attach electronic components in an automated process and fix them securely in place without applying tensile stress to points of contact.

AMOHR Technische Textilien GmbH has made a name for itself as an industry supplier of top-quality narrow textiles. Today, the company predominantly specializes in developing electrically conductive textiles, which are then offered as flat conductors, sensors or heating elements. This development work is centered primarily at its main factory in Wuppertal, Germany, where textile and chemical engineers work alongside experienced weaving experts to get innovative solutions ready for series production and manufacture specialist products. AMOHR also runs a cutting-edge, efficient plant dedicated to mass production in the Austrian town of Laa an der Thaya. At HANNOVER MESSE 2019, AMOHR showcased a range of smart textiles, including its partially elastic flat conductive tape AMOTAPE® Fast-E-Tex.
The term "smart textiles" has been cropping up more and more, particularly recently. Yet at many conferences and seminars on this topic, speakers only tend to talk about future opportunities and projects. So AMOHR seems to be very much ahead of the curve, having built up 20 years of experience in combining fabrics and conductive materials to create conductive textiles. Indeed, its partially elastic flat conductive tape AMOTAPE® Fast-E-Tex presented in Hannover offers the unprecedented opportunity to attach electronic components – such as RGB LEDs and distance, RFID, gesture or temperature sensors - in an automated process and hold them securely in place without applying tensile stress to the points of contact.
