Digital twins at the right time

One of the core competencies of the Mannheim-based company is the generation of digital twins. The Neoception Digital Twin Infrastructure (DTI) used for this purpose is a platform designed to combine proprietary product data from different sources into a standardized digital twin and make it available for a wide range of cross-manufacturer and cross-industry applications. A key aspect of DTI is that the digital twins are only created when they are specifically requested. This on-demand creation, based on pre-built templates and specific mapping rules, avoids redundant data storage and ensures that users always have access to the most recent information.

Four in a row

DTI can either be operated by the customer themselves or offered as a SaaS solution by Neoception GmbH. The implementation of the DTI comprises four layers, of which the first, the connection layer, integrates various customer-specific data sources. At the core of this layer are two main tasks: querying relevant product hierarchy information, which is crucial for selecting the appropriate template, and enriching that template with specific values. The focus of the standardization layer is on harmonizing different data formats and structures to ensure consistent data integration. The modeling layer of the DTI is where the digital twin templates used for the asset description are developed. Each template is composed of submodel templates that represent different aspects of the asset. Finally, the DTI's application layer provides a range of applications that use the standardized data and models. These applications are designed for both internal and cross-vendor use, enabling a wide range of applications and effective support for various business processes and requirements.
