TÜV NORD organizes diverse Energy Sessions
For the first time at HANNOVER MESSE, TÜV NORD Energy Sessions highlight key challenges and potential solutions for the manufacturing industry. From 20 to 23 April 2026, participants can expect a broad program that covers decarbonization, hydrogen technologies, and energy management. Sessions provide attendees with concrete recommendations for action for their companies.

Practical insights into the transformation of manufacturing
One focus is on the role of hydrogen as a key technology. For example, the session “Decarbonization in Industry with Hydrogen as an Energy Storage Medium” explores how companies can systematically analyze their energy consumption and make it more sustainable through innovative storage solutions. In addition, “How to: Produce Hydrogen Yourself” provides a technical overview of production processes, efficiency levels, and regulatory frameworks – a topic that is becoming increasingly strategic for many companies.
Legal uncertainties and economic opportunities
In addition to technological issues, another focus is on energy law. The session “Industrial Electricity Prices & Customer-Owned Facilities: Between Relief and Legal Uncertainty” addresses the current debate surrounding government relief measures and regulatory uncertainties. Participants familiarize themselves with the requirements, obligations, and strategic options. The session “H2 certification: climate saver or bureaucratic monster?” also demonstrates how complex regulatory requirements can be translated into economic opportunities. In particular, the session highlights the importance of green hydrogen certification for the energy transition.
From strategy to implementation: holistic approaches are needed
Formats such as “NetZero or NoGo?” present comprehensive decarbonization strategies that combine efficiency measures, hydrogen use, and carbon capture. The goal is to support companies in developing economically viable transformation plans. The session “Game on: climate protection and business decisions in real-world interaction” takes an interactive approach. Through a simulation, participants experience how business decisions impact climate protection and risk management.
Energy efficiency and electrification are key
Traditional topics such as energy management and electrification also remain central. The session “Right from the start and then getting better and better” highlights common mistakes made when setting up management systems and offers practical tips for effectively integrating them into business processes. The session “From petro-state to electro-state” also examines the structural shift toward electrified energy systems. Participants learn how to unlock efficiency potential and develop long-term transformation strategies.
Technological innovations for a stable energy system
The program is rounded out by presentations on sector coupling and storage technologies. The session on large-scale battery storage highlights its central role in ensuring the stability of future power grids and the integration of renewable energy.
Platform for exchange and guidance
With its Energy Sessions, TÜV NORD provides a platform for knowledge transfer and exchange at HANNOVER MESSE. The combination of technical, legal, and strategic topics makes it clear: The energy transition is no longer merely an environmental challenge, but a key competitive factor for the manufacturing industry.
The TÜV NORD Energy Sessions are held alternately in German and English. An overview of the events is available here .
