The Smart Industry Readiness Index requires that companies first identify the areas in which they see the greatest potential for digitization, i.e. the areas that have prevented them from fully exploiting their transformation potential to date. The index then defines the key corporate divisions for Industry 4.0 and analyzes how far individual factories have progressed with implementation. “The result clearly shows where to start,” says TÜV Süd, according to which over 200 assessments have already demonstrated the tool’s practicability.
There are other more or less sophisticated tools that companies can use to classify their digitization progress. The Institute for Applied Ergonomics (Ifaa) has put many of them to the test. According to haufe.de , scientists recommend first analyzing the company’s situation and the planned follow-up, and then choosing the appropriate check.
