Turn the table!
HIWIN, the Offenburg-based specialist for standard and customized drive solutions, is not only expanding its portfolio of rotary tables with two compact sizes, but is also adding new functional safety encoders to its encoder interfaces.

HIWIN rotary and swivel rotary tables are ready-to-install rotary axes that can be integrated directly into the machine concept without any design effort. The maintenance-free direct drives used ensure high-torque and high-precision performance of the rotary axes. Thanks to various encoder interfaces, the rotary and swivel rotary tables can be easily integrated into all standard machine control systems and therefore all existing machine concepts.
In the run-up to HANNOVER MESSE 2024, HIWIN has expanded its range of encoder interfaces and is now offering absolute encoders for its rotary tables, including those with Functional Safety, in addition to its tried-and-tested incremental encoders. In addition, two new sizes have been added to the particularly flat and lightweight DMN rotary tables. The absolute encoders are available with functional safety or as a high-resolution version. This makes the rotary axes ideally suited for dynamic positioning in demanding automation and precision applications. By using encoders with functional safety, the high-torque and ready-to-install rotary tables can be seamlessly integrated into applications with high safety requirements. EnDat 2.2 or BiSS-C interfaces are available as interfaces.
As mentioned at the beginning, the Offenburg-based manufacturer of motion technology is also expanding its compact rotary table series with the new DMN21 and DMN22 sizes. With an outer diameter of just 65 millimetres, they offer all the advantages of direct drives, even on a small scale. On request, HIWIN can supply its rotary tables as a complete package with a matching drive amplifier. "From the individual components to the ready-to-install precision system with the rotary table as an additional rotary axis, we offer motion technology from a single source," emphasizes HIWIN Managing Director Werner Mäurer.
