At HANNOVER MESSE 2019, SSI Schäfer is once again exhibiting its comprehensive range of manual, semi- and fully automated solutions for production logistics to a wide international audience. A showcase at the SSI Schäfer stand offers a live demonstration of how manual warehouse components can be combined with automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to create semi-automated storage solutions. Take, for example, the "WEASEL" - this solution takes EF and MF containers from live-storage shelving and transports them via an optical path to a designated transfer point - all without the need for complex sensors. What's more, SSI Schäfer has also recently expanded its AGV range through a collaboration with Austrian AGV specialist DS AUTOMOTION. The compact "Sally" AGV from DS AUTOMOTION is designed for loads up to around 100 kg and is also being demonstrated live on a special area. "Sally" completes a range of transport tasks with great flexibility and navigates autonomously using simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology.
