Western Power is a state-controlled utility company in Western Australia based in Perth. It has commissioned Dutch service provider Fugro with constructing a digital twin of its electricity generation facilities. The order amounts to 5 million Australian dollars (just over 3 million euros). Fugro will collect data on Western Power's 75,000 kilometer power grid, analyzing and providing it on its Roames cloud platform.

Western Power aims to develop several facility management programs using the digital twin. It also plans to develop tools to facilitate corporate decision-making on the basis of digital analysis. Furthermore, Western Power aims to link the monitored facilities with its geographical information system (GIS) to eliminate inaccuracies in spatial positioning.
