WHAT REALLY WORKS. How Technology moves Industry forward
Interview with Angelika Miedtank, Sales Team Leader, Armbruster Engineering GmbH & Co. KG

Skilled workers are in short supply, product variations are increasing, and new employees need to be up to speed quickly—how does digital worker guidance help reduce both training times and error rates at the same time?
“The key is to make expertise available where it’s needed: right at the assembly table or on the assembly line, in the middle of the work. ELAM guides employees through the intended steps with clear work instructions, images, and videos. This makes it easier to get started and also supports experienced colleagues in their daily tasks. ELAM takes into account varying levels of prior knowledge and experience, ensuring that all employees perform the work steps on the product consistently.
Tool feedback and integrated checks complement this guidance directly within the process. This allows us to support both onboarding and quality simultaneously. Our approach is to empower people in their work and make existing knowledge accessible to the entire team.”
What specific solution is Armbruster Engineering showcasing at HM27?
“The focus is on ELAM as a networked production system. For us, it’s about the interplay between digital support and practical implementation: We take a holistic view of workflows and workstation design by combining software, design, and engineering. Depending on the needs, we either enhance existing workstations or develop suitable workstation and production line concepts, including the necessary hardware. Everything from a single source!
A clear example of this is the material supply for an assembly station: ELAM displays the parts required for the job, tracks consumption, and can trigger replenishment. This allows assembly and logistics to operate on a shared information basis. This supports coordinated processes and gives teams more time for their actual tasks.
With the ELAM Agent, we’re also preparing for the next step in development. It is designed to simplify the setup of digital workflows via voice or text input and to make information from existing work instructions usable. Our goal is to make working with the software more intuitive right from the preparation stage. The ELAM Agent is currently in the testing phase and is expected to be available in early 2027."
If visitors were to take away just one thing from your booth—what should that be?
“That the transition to connected production can begin with a single workstation. ELAM can be expanded step by step to other areas. The key is to start where support in day-to-day work brings the greatest benefit.
We want to show how this results in a solution where digital workflows and the practical design of the workstation fit together seamlessly. Our motto: Simple. Safe. Assembly.”

Armbruster Engineering GmbH & Co. KG
As Sales Team Leader at Armbruster Engineering, I combine 16 years of experience in sales and marketing with a passion for digital solutions in the manufacturing industry. With our worker assistance system ELAM, we help companies make their production processes more efficient, safer, and traceable. My goal is to listen carefully and work together to develop solutions that truly work in everyday life. It’s especially important to me that technology makes people’s lives easier. For me, this also includes projects that make it easier for people with disabilities to access the primary labor market.
