Schaeffler AG, headquartered in Herzogenaurach, is best known as a supplier to the automotive and mechanical engineering industries. With the Power-Adapt energy monitoring solution, the company is now also offering comprehensive insights into the energy consumption and costs of buildings and processes, including electricity and other media. According to Schaeffler, Power-Adapt is flexible and can be seamlessly integrated into existing energy management systems or connected to other solutions such as facility management systems, in addition to new installations. The LoRaWAN technology reliably transmits data through thick walls and over long distances, ensuring secure data transmission. The results can be viewed immediately in a user-friendly, web-based interface.

In addition to measuring electricity, gas and water consumption, environmental variables such as temperature, humidity and CO2 concentration can also be recorded using sensors. By monitoring base loads and peak values, Power-Adapt generates alerts that enable a quick response to abnormal consumption. Furthermore, the system aggregates data from various devices to analyze the efficiency of processes and infrastructure. This information is essential for making informed decisions to further optimize operations. Companies can achieve significant cost savings while reducing their carbon footprint.

Smurfit Westrock, a leading global paper packaging manufacturer, has already installed Power-Adapt in 20 plants, significantly optimizing its energy consumption. In view of the challenge of precisely identifying energy peaks, Smurfit Westrock was looking for a solution that not only records energy consumption in production plants, but also continuously monitors and analyzes it. Power-Adapt has proven to be the ideal solution.
