With the efficiency turnaround into the electric future
At this year's HANNOVER MESSE, the ZVEI is once again presenting its vision of a digitized, electrified and decarbonized industrial society. As in the previous year, the “All Electric Society Arena” in Hall 11 is the center of the trade fair activities.
4 Mar 2025Share
The German Electrical and Digital Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, is presenting a broad range of topics at HANNOVER MESSE 2025. For example, high-level representatives from companies, research and politics will come together in the so-called High Noon Talks at 12 noon on all days of the fair. In discussions with ZVEI representatives, they will discuss the opportunities and conditions for an efficient and sustainable economy. In addition, various experts will give daily keynote speeches on key future topics such as competitiveness in the EU, the potential of artificial intelligence in industry and the smart and secure supply of renewable energies. The individual program items of the ZVEI on the occasion of the fair are structured as follows.
Industry 4.0 Conference Stage
On the Industry 4.0 Stage, meanwhile, everything revolves around automation: the five-day conference program in Hall 8 (Stand D17) on digitalization in production is supported by the Industry 4.0 platform, the VDMA and the ZVEI and answers questions on the management of data streams, IT security, standards and the interoperability of different solutions, and presents numerous use cases from the field.
FEMWORX Congress (Convention Center)
Female leadership and STEM – a key topic in the HANNOVER MESSE supporting program under a new name since 2024. The ZVEI is once again supporting the networking and discussion event on April 3 and 4, which offers a platform for discussions on diversity, equality and female career advancement in industry.
ZVEI young talent program
The promising career opportunities that the electrical and digital industry offers young talent will be on display again in 2025 at the ZVEI stand in Hall 11 (Stand B54). With its exhibit Industrie4.0@School, the David Roentgen School in Neuwied shows how current industry topics can be integrated into vocational training in a practical and didactically appealing way in an interactive learning project.
Digital Product Pass 4.0
Digital Product Passes (DPP) are a key technology for sustainable transparency in industry and power grids. ZVEI is actively involved in various projects to develop corresponding standards that enable the uniform and reliable documentation of key properties of systems, devices and components, such as the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF). DPP4.0@Machine and DDP4.0@Grid will provide information on current progress at the ZVEI stand.
Process X
The aim of Process X, a joint project by NAMUR and ZVEI, is to optimize efficiency and sustainability in the process industry with the help of collaborative data spaces. At the main ZVEI stand, visitors can learn how chemical production, for example, can benefit from digital efficiency gains without sacrificing data sovereignty, interoperability and trustworthiness.
Drive 4.0 (Research Association for Electrical Engineering)
At the ZVEI main stand, Drive 4.0 will be demonstrating the use case “Digitalized Asset Management” with several demonstrators: With a federated data space and administration shells, it achieves cross-manufacturer transparency in factory plants with numerous assets that have different characteristics. Through the multilateral exchange of data, all important asset information is available centrally and in a uniform format.
Open Direct Current Alliance (ODCA)
The ODCA pursues the goal of establishing DC microgrids. At the ZVEI main stand, the international ZVEI working party will be demonstrating the contribution that direct current can make to energy and resource efficiency in industrial applications and beyond. The open ODCA approach offers great opportunities for developers, machine builders and plant operators and is a building block on the road to an efficient All Electric Society.
5G-ACIA – “5G and Industrial Wireless Arena”
At its booth in Hall 14, the ZVEI working group “5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation” (5G-ACIA) provides information on all aspects of industrial 5G. More than 15 exhibitors – including Huawei, Siemens and Fraunhofer – show realistic showcases. Particularly valuable insights are provided by Demo Wall 2.0 and a selection of current testbeds. With the 5G Arena and the “5G & Industrial Wireless Conference Stage”, the 5G-ACIA is also supporting an important thematic focus of HANNOVER MESSE 2025 as a partner.
Forum Energy 4.0
As a partner, ZVEI also supports the professional exchange of ideas on another key topic for the development of the “All Electric Society”: the Energy 4.0 Forum (Hall 13) is dedicated to solutions for the integration of renewable sources, sustainable energy security and the coupling of power, heat and mobility – including the Energy 4.0 Stage, which ZVEI is presenting together with VDE and VDMA.
