D-Line Concept is the name those responsible at the Aalen/Baden-Württemberg University of Applied Sciences have given the new learning concept with which teachers want to equip students with digitization knowledge. The prospective engineers acquire knowledge in mechanical engineering, process engineering or automotive engineering as well as electronics, automation technology and information technology expertise. Many lectures are supplemented by specialist labs. The specialized subjects also address the topic of digitization in a targeted manner.

The shortage of skilled workers is considered to be one of the biggest obstacles to digitization. 87% of companies have difficulties recruiting staff . Although many companies thus provide their own training programs, the search for suitable trainees is also proving increasingly challenging in many regions. Courses such as those offered by Aalen University at least help mitigate the situation in the medium-term.
