Hannover/Bonn, Germany. Energy prices have become a prime location factor for industry – both for globally active industrial companies and for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The introduction of energy-efficient solutions in the production process is no longer a purely ecological question, but also a question of comparative cost and competitive advantage.

As the organizer of HANNOVER MESSE, the world’s largest trade fair for industrial technology, Deutsche Messe, is zeroing in on the issue of energy efficiency in industry. The newly created Industrial Energy Efficiency Award is dedicated to identifying and awarding prizes to outstanding industrial processes and applications based on their energy efficiency, targeting providers as well as users of energy-efficient solutions for production processes. The first year, a total of four prizes will be awarded in the fields of industry and energy – one for an SME and one for a large-sized company in each category. The awards ceremony takes place on 4 April at HANNOVER MESSE 2019.

The independent market research and consulting firm EuPD Research –specialists in energy market issues – has been commissioned by Deutsche Messe to organize the award. Based on a quality criteria catalogue, EuPD Research will implement the entire process, from the submission of competition entries to the crowning awards ceremony at HANNOVER MESSE. The winners will be selected by a jury of high-caliber industry experts, to be named shortly.
