Global Business & Markets: Global value creation and current opportunities in international trade

Industrie 4.0 is a big contributor to global value creation. But which opportunities does it create? Which countries offer the most potential? And what is the best approach? Global Business & Markets, Europe’s leading platform for international trade, provides the answers to these questions.

More than 5,000 visitors come to Global Business & Markets every year. Among the roughly 200 exhibiting companies in Hall 3 are countries, regions and cities presenting development and investment projects as well as consultants and service providers from areas such as location selection, financing, patent law and venture capital. Also present are 48 German Chambers of Commerce with current foreign projects, the U.N. organization for industrial development (UNIDO) with explanations of its sustainability goals, longtime partner Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), the City of Moscow, and the Russian economic ministry.

Exhibitors include FinPro, Finland’s investment agency, Great Stone Park and the Kaunas Free Economic Zone from Lithuania, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the China International Investment Promotion Agency, and the Chinese industry center Tianjin. Partner Country Poland’s main exhibit is located directly next to Global Business & Markets.

Visitors at the Global Business & Markets conferences and forums learn how topics such as digitalization, diversification, sustainability and the energy transition are developing in different countries. For example, the Polish-German Business Summit looks at bilateral cooperation in the areas of mobility and Industrie 4.0. Germany Trade & Invest organizes a conference about the importance of startups for Germany’s future as an industrial location. China’s trade ministry stages the conference "Intelligent Production and Cooperation, New Impulse for Chinese-German Teamwork".

The UAE Investment and Business Forum focuses on opportunities for value creation in the Persian Gulf region. Companies at the German-Japanese Business Forum discuss shared perspectives regarding Industrie 4.0. The Eastern Branch of the Federation of German Industries stages a conference about the digital transformation and new opportunities for cooperation between Russia and Germany. The Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s Oil & Gas Networking Event features experts from ten countries discussing current developments and supply chances for technology providers.

Global Business & Markets is organized under the patronage of Elżbieta Bieńkowska, European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs; Brigitte Zypries, German Federal Minister for Economy and Energy; Dieter Kempf, President, Federation of German Industries (BDI); Stephan Weil, Minister President of Lower Saxony; and Eric Schweitzer, President, Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).
