Shanghai/Hannover. Confirming its position as an excellent business platform for international exhibitors and buyers, the industrial event held in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre came to an end on 9 November. The trade fairs PTC ASIA (power transmission and control technologies), ComVac ASIA (compressed air technology) and Industrial Supply ASIA (supply) are regarded as leading industry events in their specific sectors. CeMAT ASIA, Asia's largest intralogistics show, took place in parallel. Overall, more than 2,100 domestic and international companies displayed their products and services on a total display area of approx. 150,000 square meters. Focusing on the theme of 'Intelligent Production', the four-day industrial technology show attracted a total of 100,616 attendees.

"We are delighted that the exhibitors and visitors at this year's events were very satisfied", explained Krister Sandvoss, Global Director Industries & Logistics and New Exhibitions Development at Deutsche Messe. "With China continuing to focus on intelligent production, globally active manufacturers are expanding their business in this part of the world in order to demonstrate their international competence and at the same time increasingly target Chinese buyers. This is the ideal place to bring together international interested customers and solution providers."

PTC ASIA 2018 – a meeting-place for the industry

In tandem, the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) staged the Smart Manufacturing Forum, which showcased the leading technologies of German power transmission and control manufacturers.

Exhibitors included renowned companies such as Lenze, Mayr, Intorq, Precima, Flender, Kastas, Ringspann, Fenner Drives, Contitech, Dichtomatik, Maedler, Elring Klinger, Pöppelmann, Filtration Group, Balflex, Bonfiglioli, Regal, Kracht and Exmar. Innovative products and technologies in the fields of fluid technology, pneumatics and sealing technology, bearings, transmissions and electric drives, belt drives, chain drives and spring drives were exhibited by companies such as Gates, Martin, Bando, Megadyne and SIT.

Phillip Hewitt, Sales Manager for the European business of Martin Sprocket and Gear, was extremely pleased with the event: "PTC Asia is very important for us. The caliber of the visitors was excellent – one of the reasons why our stand has kept increasing in size over the years and will continue to do so in future. PTC Asia will undoubtedly continue to grow over the next 5 to 10 years and at the same time the quality of the visitors will keep on increasing. The trade fair offers ideal conditions for reaching international trade visitors and generating high-quality leads. I can highly recommend participation in this trade fair to any potential exhibitor."
