Dr. Kamila Flidr named Engineer Powerwoman 2022
For the tenth time running, Hannover-based Deutsche Messe has presented the Engineer Powerwoman Award to a female specialist for her exceptional contribution to the scientific and technical disciplines. The winner was announced on 2 June 2022 during the opening ceremony of the WomenPower Congress.

Hannover, Germany. This year, Dr. Kamila Flidr was named Engineer Powerwoman at WomenPower in the course of HANNOVER MESSE. The award was presented by jury chairperson Prof. Barbara Schwarze from the Competence Center Technology-Diversity-Equal Opportunities (kompetenzz) based in Bielefeld, Germany. "In the person of Dr. Flidr, we are honoring a STEM expert who incorporates the outstanding achievements of women at technology-oriented firms," said Ms. Schwarze. "In addition, we are also recognizing her commitment to promoting the careers of women at her company."
Dr. Kamila Flidr obtained an undergraduate degree in engineering from the Czech Technical University in Prague, afterwards earning a master’s degree at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon. There, she also obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, before launching her career at PSA Peugeot Citroën. In 2014, she moved to Germany, taking over the technical support of a key account at Altair. She helped co-found Altair’s new subsidiary in Eastern Europe and took up the position of Technical Account Manager upon her return to Germany. Dr. Flidr made her mark in a male-dominated industry and has used this experience as an opportunity to support the career advancement of women. Since January 2022 Dr. Flidr has served as president of Altair’s Women in the Tech EMEA Employee Resource Group.
A total of three female specialists were nominated as finalists for the Engineer Powerwoman Award by an independent panel of judges, consisting of members of the WomenPower congressional advisory committee
