GREEN-TWIN is part of the 8ra initiative and a project by N+P Informationssysteme aimed at developing a sustainable, hybrid platform for digital twins in the context of green buildings and factories. The starting point is the situation faced by many SMEs: they want to make use of real-time data from the operation of their machines and systems in customer environments (e.g. for monitoring, optimization, and new digital services), but at the same time, there are often reservations about handing over data entirely to a single cloud provider.
To address this, GREEN-TWIN relies on a sovereign cloud solution with hybrid platform environments and data spaces such as Manufacturing-X for multi-provider infrastructure scenarios. The aim is to enable trusted, cross-company data usage. To support interoperability, data sovereignty, and data control, the project integrates GAIA-X core components and standards.
