The Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC) is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 1998 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to facilitate research, development and demonstration projects to reduce the carbon footprint and increase the production of subsurface energy.
As a global leader in carbon storage research, PTRC manages the Aquistore Project, one of the world’s most comprehensive CO₂ storage sites, providing critical insights into safe, long-term carbon sequestration in deep saline formations. In addition, the PTRC Energy Innovation Hub fosters collaboration across industries, supporting next-generation technologies that drive sustainable energy development.
Leveraging decades of expertise in carbon management, enhanced oil recovery, and subsurface energy technologies, PTRC drives innovative research and development of subsurface energy technologies.
