An important goal of the project is to develop a practical, comprehensible process model for developing a measurement concept for energy consumption in companies and for setting up an energy management tool. This serves the efficient, innovative use of data in the context of identifying and implementing energy efficiency and flexibility measures.
Interested companies will receive step-by-step instructions for orientation and detailed guidelines for the implementation of possible measures. In addition, a series of information events (webinars, etc.) will be offered to provide information and background on the application, expansion, and benefits of the new energy management system and to simplify its implementation across the board.
Key components of the system—such as the simulation environment for creating energy supply concepts—are also made available to the community as open source code. With this Open Source Energy Management System (OpenEMS), transferable and universally applicable components of the developed modules (e.g., for energy models, AI forecasting models, life cycle assessment) and corresponding interface configurations are made publicly available.
Prototypical measurement kits are to be used to enable easy-to-use, comprehensible measurements in companies and to train energy consultants and other groups of people involved.
