With the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG), the German government created a cross-sector framework for saving energy in November 2023. It stipulates that companies with an average annual energy consumption of more than 7.5 GWh must set up an environmental management system in accordance with EMAS or an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001. The deadline has been set: The deadline for introducing the system is 18 July 2025.
