The cifX PC card family offers an unified standard supporting all Real-Time Ethernet and Fieldbus systems for all PC-based automation.Choosing cifX technology gives customers the chance to meet user’s ever-changing requirements for industrial automation in a flexible and future-proven way. Based on Hilscher’s netX multiprotocol ASIC, all members of the unique cifX-family are using the same tools, drivers and application interface. Integrated once, a modification of the protocol, card format or connector technology is quick and easy. Furthermore, cifX technology supports master as well as slave functionality. The PC card executes the protocol stack autonomously and the process data exchange with the host is done via Dual-Port-Memory or DMA (Direct Memory Access).
