Process X is the data room for the process industry. Known mechanisms from other data rooms will be developed and tested on the basis of practical, relevant use cases to ensure that the solutions meet the needs of chemical production. The Process X project is not subject to public funding but is financed by NAMUR and ZVEI member companies.
A data space is a digital, secure area in which companies and organizations can exchange and share data without losing control of their own data. As a rule, these data spaces are provided with strict access rights and rules to ensure data protection and data security. The aim is to create a trustworthy, interoperable framework for data exchange that enables the secure and collaborative use of data. Process X uses the concepts of AAS (Asset Administration Shell) and NOA (NAMUR Open Architecture).
At Hannover Messe 2025, the focus will be on the “Predictive Steam Production” use case. With the help of algorithms and machine learning (AI), steam demand can be predicted on the basis of historical data, production plans, and real-time data from the plant. This makes it possible to reliably calculate steam requirements so that only the exact amount needed is produced. This leads to a lower CO2 footprint and lower energy and production costs.
