A world first in the packaging industry - the new FP-1000 UV laser coder
Developed to revolutionize thermal transfer printing - without making any changes to the films or the production system.
In contrast to thermal transfer printers, which use a print head and ribbon to apply ink to the packaging film, the FP-1000 uses a UV laser to mark on the marking layer of a film. This creates a permanent marking without damaging the film.
Consumables-free: there are no costs for ribbons, replacing the print head, adjusting the mounting bracket or compressed air. This saves 1.2 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
Smudge and abrasion resistant: With ink-based systems used up to now, there is a high risk of incomplete or faded print results. Marking with a UV laser coder is permanent, even if there is oil, powder or other contaminants on the surface of the film. They are also resistant to damage after marking, e.g. caused by friction, alcohol, heat or transportation. The “cold marking” method also prevents thermal damage to the materials.
Maintenance-free: Thanks to the UV laser coder, production downtimes and stoppages are a thing of the past and continuous marking can be carried out. There is no need to stop the production line, which makes it possible to increase the production volume by 150,000 units per year with the same operating time.
On top of this, the FP-1000 has been designed to have similar external dimensions to the thermal transfer printer, making replacement and integration very easy.
