nititec vacuum gripper GmbH, part of the mateligent group, introduces the G-VAC series – a new generation of electric vacuum grippers for industrial automation. The systems operate entirely without compressed air, eliminating one of the most energy-intensive infrastructures in automated production.
Unlike conventional pneumatic solutions, vacuum is generated directly inside the gripper using an electric drive. This reduces energy consumption by up to 90%, eliminates leakage losses, and significantly lowers operating costs. At the same time, the entire compressed air infrastructure – including compressors, valves, and tubing – is no longer required, reducing system complexity, maintenance effort, and integration time.
The technology is based on intelligent shape memory alloys (nickel-titanium), which convert electrical energy directly into mechanical motion. This enables compact, lightweight, and nearly silent grippers with two energy-free switching states and high operational reliability.

Typical applications include pick-and-place processes, machine tending, and the handling of flat components in automated production cells.
