What we at Bayer call digital farming is the same farming humans have done for millenia, but better. Farmers combine on-the-ground insights into their own operations, aggregated data from satellites and third parties, and cutting-edge machine learning techniques to understand what's happening in their fields better than ever before. And they have the flexibility to integrate tools that drive even better ways to manage their operations, from remote sensors that detect and diagnose yield-impacting field issues, to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, commonly referred to as “drones”), that help image and treat those issues. And innovative science pipelines are continually developing new ways to understand and partner with farmers to provide the solutions they need, when they're needed.
Bayer's Digital Agriculture represents the intersection of Bayer's science and the producer's experience—a combination that drives more efficient, personalized, and connected farming.
Brazil:
Bayer was a pioneer in 2017 by launching Climate FieldView™ in Brazil. We have grown year after year, and not by chance: it has only been possible because producers see value in it and consider us their partner to enhance productivity, profitability, and sustainability in their crops. Producers who already use data in managing their properties with our platform have shown average productivity levels 30% higher in corn and 20% higher in soybeans compared to the national average from Conab/BR.
PRO Carbono: Among the highlighted initiatives is PRO Carbono, the largest platform for regenerative solutions in the company in Latin America. It offers the agricultural sector sustainability solutions based on scientific evidence and scale, adaptable to the maturity level of each company to ensure responsible supply chains, free from deforestation, and aligned with international standards. Services can be contracted by companies in full or in stages, according to their objectives.
