Our focus includes modernizing electrical distribution and developing advanced control systems for peak management to ensure that utility delivery can remain both affordable and reliable. Past applied research involved a comprehensive study on the impact of electric vehicle (EV) adoption on local distribution networks. By analyzing grid requirements and identifying necessary infrastructure upgrades, we provided data-driven recommendations that will help utility providers and municipalities manage evolving energy demands.
Through the Campus Energy Living Lab, the EIC can provide a controlled yet authentic operational environment for validating these systems.
