It isn't just factories that are being revolutionized by the digitization and state-of-the-art technologies of Industry 4.0 - the range of applications in the medical sector is also expanding exponentially thanks to highly developed robot and visualization technologies. Take, for example, the new TIVATO 700 from ZEISS - an innovative visualization system for spinal surgery. "When developing the ZEISS TIVATO 700 we involved experts from around the world to gather requirements for MISS [minimally invasive spine surgery]. Surgeons in this specialist field are not just interested in excellent visualization, they also use digital solutions, and value flexibility when it comes to positioning the device to suit different OR situations. These are requirements we are able to meet with our new advanced visualization system,” explains Dirk Brunner, Head of the Microsurgery Strategic Business Unit at ZEISS Meditec.

The ZEISS TIVATO 700’s visualization technology enhances workflows and opens up fluorescence options for assessing vessel patency and other applications. The company also promises that built-in 4K technology enables surgeons to visualize procedures in brilliant image quality. What's more, this solution can be extended and moved around with exceptional ease and thereby adapted to a vast range of OR scenarios. An increased working distance means spine surgeons and OR staff can position the ZEISS TIVATO 700 however they wish, which is particularly convenient when using long instruments. Excellent overhead clearance, meanwhile, ensures they can work underneath the system - regardless of where it is placed. Controlled via an intuitive and user-friendly digital interface, the ZEISS TIVATO 700 offers doctors and medical personnel a seamless transition into the world of networked visualization systems. The platform is designed to integrate perfectly into a hospital's existing IT infrastructure and support a wide variety of digital workflows, with the ZEISS Connect app enabling users to control image documentation, data management and data transfer across the entire surgical workflow.
